Submitting an inquiry does not create an order. A project enters production only after the model, painting tier, price, schedule, destination and special requirements are confirmed by email and the agreed deposit is received.
01 · ScopeCommission scope and quotes
- Catalogue prices are references for the model and finish shown. Custom schemes, conversions, scenic bases, army batches or different kits are quoted separately.
- During the launch offer, catalogue prices marked as including the official model kit include that kit. Client-supplied models and special sourcing must be confirmed in the quote.
- The final email quote states the production scope, price, estimated schedule, delivery method and reference material requiring approval.
02 · Deposit40% deposit and cancellation
- A 40% deposit is normally required to fund kit sourcing, materials and a production slot.
- The project enters purchasing or production after the deposit arrives and the specification is confirmed.
- If the client cancels before purchasing or production begins, any refund is calculated after unavoidable costs. Once a kit has been purchased, custom work has started or a dedicated slot has been reserved, the deposit is generally non-refundable.
- If Maxon Casting cannot accept or continue the project, payment for the unfulfilled portion will be returned.
Cancellation, pauses and scope changes must be confirmed by email. Social-media messages are not the final change record.
03 · ProductionSchedule and WIP revisions
- Production time depends on model count, complexity, sourcing and the active queue. There is no universal fixed delivery time; the estimate is stated in the quote.
- Projects include a mid-production WIP review and normally up to three revision conversations within the approved direction.
- Revision rounds cover colour, contrast, local details and agreed effects. They do not include changing the kit, replacing the overall scheme, rebuilding finished structures or adding major conversions.
- Work outside the agreed scope is quoted for additional time and cost before it proceeds.
04 · BalanceFinal approval, balance and holding
- Final photos and video are provided for approval after production.
- Packing and dispatch begin after approval and full balance payment. Until then, ownership and delivery obligations remain with the studio.
- The balance deadline and holding arrangements for overdue projects are stated in the quote or a later email. Contact us in advance if payment will be delayed.
05 · ShippingInternational shipping, customs and timing
- Projects ship from China using a tracked international service. The carrier and expected delivery range are confirmed before dispatch.
- Standard shipping is included from USD 450. Below USD 450, standard shipping is USD 75. Oversized parcels, remote destinations and special insurance may require a separate quote.
- Import duty, VAT, clearance charges and other destination-government fees are paid by the recipient unless the quote expressly says otherwise.
- Carrier, customs, weather and destination restrictions are outside direct production control, but we will assist with tracking and declaration documents.
06 · ReturnsCustom goods, returns and transit damage
- Painting commissions are made to an approved specification. After the client approves final media before dispatch, returns are generally not accepted for change of mind, subjective colour preference or no longer needing the item.
- If the item is materially different from the confirmed order, has a workmanship issue or arrives damaged, contact us promptly and retain the box, packing and unboxing photos or video.
- Based on the evidence and carrier outcome, we may arrange repair, replacement parts, remaking, an appropriate refund or another reasonable solution. Unauthorised returns may not be accepted.
- If the issue is not attributable to the studio or transit, repair, exchange and return shipping may be charged to the client.
Nothing in this policy limits mandatory consumer rights under applicable law. Mandatory law controls if there is a conflict.

FAQFrequently asked questions
Why does the catalogue price include the model?
During the launch offer, clearly marked catalogue prices include the matching official kit and the shown painting service. Different kits or work outside the sample specification are quoted again.
Can I send my own models?
Yes, but confirm condition, completeness, customs declaration and transit responsibility by email before shipping. Do not send a parcel without confirmation.
When does work start after the 40% deposit?
The project enters sourcing and scheduling after payment. The start depends on kit arrival and the active queue and is stated in the quote.
What do the three WIP revisions cover?
They cover colour, lighting and local detail within the approved direction. They do not cover replacing the model, reversing the whole scheme or adding major conversions.
Can my commission remain private?
Yes. Request privacy in the inquiry form or by email before production and the project will be marked as a private commission.
How long is shipping to the US, Europe or Japan?
Timing varies by carrier, customs, destination and parcel size. We provide the available service and estimated range before dispatch rather than promising a fixed number of days.
Who pays customs charges?
Unless the quote states otherwise, the recipient pays destination duty, import tax, VAT and clearance charges.
What happens if the model is damaged in transit?
Keep all packing and send unboxing photos or video promptly. We will assist with the carrier claim and arrange repair, replacement parts or another reasonable solution as appropriate.
Have a special requirement?
Add it to the brief before paying a deposit and we will confirm it in the final quote.
